KUSA – What turned out to be a fabricated report of a person with a rifle inside of an office building in Louisville Friday prompted an evacuation and the Boulder County SWAT team to respond to the scene.
The Louisville Police Department says the investigation occurred at a building in the 800 block of Cherry Street. When police scoured the building, they didn’t find a suspect, but had the SWAT team also search out of an abundance of caution.
Police say their ensuing investigation revealed the initial report was a hoax and a case of “swatting,” or what happens when someone makes a prank call to emergency services to bring a large number of police officers to a certain address.
It’s unclear if Louisville Police have identified a suspect in this case.
