The Higher Learning Commission has placed Adams State University, located in Alamosa, on probation.
The university is on probation for several reasons.
Many online courses do not reflect the university's Hybrid and Online Course Credit Hour Assignment interaction.
The report says the school has a lack of interaction or set due dates for their online courses and no visible student-instructor interaction. The HLC says there is not enough faculty and staff interaction for "distance education courses."
According to the HLC, the student-faculty ratio is high, with each faculty member having 400 to 600 students in individual online sections.
