CU researchers are heading to the University of Texas to participate in a month-long HOMEChem (House Observations of Microbial and Environmental Chemistry) research project.

Researchers from 13 universities from fields such as engineering, chemistry, and microbiology are setting up shop in trailers around the University of Texas "UTest House" research facility to measure "air and surface chemistry in an unprecedented initiative to identify the key causes of indoor air pollution."

They'll monitor — using high-tech devices — "household activities like cleaning with bleach, spritzing hairspray, even gathering a dozen people to cook a holiday dinner."
