Emily Griffith Technical College names prominent lawyer its new director

Stephanie F. Donner currently serves as chief legal counsel for former Gov. John Hickenlooper's 2020 presidential campaign.

DENVER — Emily Griffith Technical College announced Wednesday that Stephanie F. Donner will be its new executive director.

The last time a female led the Denver college was in 2004; five females total have led the school as executive director since it was founded in 1916.

Donner, who the school described in a release as a "lifelong learner" and "education advocate" will officially take over the role on June 17. 

"Emily Griffith is set to explore new industries and expand our partnerships, while continuing to be a thought leader in career technical education," Donner said. "I am excited to be a part of this great institution."

Donner currently serves as chief legal counsel for "Hickenlooper 2020," the name of former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper's 2020 presidential campaign.

She also worked as Galvanize Inc's chief legal and government affairs officer and corporate secretary. Galvanize is an education company focused on providing accelerated learning opportunities in software engineering and data science. 

Donner graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and was the 2017 9NEWS Leader of the Year.

Emily Griffith Technical College is located at 1860 Lincoln St. in Denver.
