DENVER — Colorado was still open for business just weeks ago.
But, as social distancing measures have grown in wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic, more and more people have done the right thing and stayed in their homes to avoid inadvertently spreading the virus to those at risk.
Gov. Jared Polis (D-Colorado) has also put Colorado under a stay-at-home order, greatly reducing the number of people out in public.
Maxar Technologies, a Colorado-based company, shared satellite images of the parking lots of numerous usually popular Colorado locations.

Slide the bar in the middle to see the differences in images. In many cases, once full parking lots are virtually empty.
The satellite that collected these photos is known as the GeoEye-1 -- it orbits at more than 420 miles above Earth at 17,000 miles per hour, meaning it takes less than a minute to capture these Denver images.
