FEDERAL HEIGHTS — A person has died after a fire Saturday morning at a mobile home park in Federal Heights.

Just after 5 a.m., the Federal Heights Fire Department was called to the Holiday Hills Village at 2001 West 92nd Avenue to investigate a report of smoke outside a home.

Arriving firefighters discovered smoke coming from the roof of a mobile home. When they went inside, crews found the home filled with smoke and the fire contained to one room of the home.

As firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, they found one person deceased inside, the fire department said in a news release.

Investigators later determined the cause of the fire was smoking while on oxygen.

Fire departments from Westminster, North Metro, Thornton and Adams County helped fight the fire.
