Three people died and a 17-year-old was injured after a pickup truck went off the side of a mountain road south of Conifer Tuesday evening and ended up in a creek.
Colorado State Patrol says the single-vehicle crash happened just before 4:40 p.m. at 12448 S. Foxton Road. Investigators say the driver lost control of the Dodge Dakota pickup truck, which rolled over multiple times.
Two of the victims were found dead in the bed of the truck. The third was ejected, according to CSP.
The teenager who was injured was found crawling up the embankment and toward the road. He was from Kansas, according to a news release from CSP.
Police are trying to determine where the three people who were killed were from. One of them had a Colorado driver's license, a CSP spokesman at the scene said.
Early indications are they were in the area to go camping.
