Police say a driver was likely on drugs when he swerved off the road, crashed into a shed and killed a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk.
Scenic Lake Arbor Park in Arvada.

An Arvada man walking on a neighborhood sidewalk was struck and killed Wednesday afternoon near Lake Arbor Park.

Nathan Osburn, 42, was walking in the area of Pomona Drive and Quay Drive at approximately 4:15 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that swerved off the road and onto the sidewalk, police said.

Police said Troy Glassford, 39, swerved while traveling east on Pomona Dr, colliding with a wooden privacy fence and shed at 8208 Quay Drive before striking Osburn.

Osburn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pomona Drive leads to the popular Lake Arbor park in Arvada, just north of 80th and Wadsworth.

Arvada police believe drugs are a factor in the crash.

Glassford was arrested and has been jailed on vehicular homicide and DUID charges. 9NEWS has requested his mug shot.
