KUSA - The brother of Aurora theater shooting victim Jessica Ghawi tweeted his thoughts about the case ahead of the sentencing decision Friday afternoon.

In a series of tweets, Jordan Ghawi says the trial "should have never happened" and was done for "political ambition."

He also discusses the costs and lengthy appeals process.

"Colorado voters should remember this come elections," he wrote.

The Aurora theater trial jury did not come to a unanimous decision, meaning the gunman is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing 12 people and injuring at least 70 others in the July 2012 shooting.

After the decision was read, he thanked the jurors.
