Car rams through Edgewater house, narrowly misses sleeping resident

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, according to Edgewater PD.

A car plowed through a home in Edgewater early Sunday morning, narrowly missing someone who was sleeping inside, according to West Metro Fire.

The vehicle went into a home in the 6500 block of West 26th Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, through the outside wall and into a bedroom, West Metro said.

The woman sleeping inside suffered minor injuries, according to a spokesperson for the Fire Department. The driver, whose car flipped onto its side as it wedged into the home, was released to Edgewater police on scene.

According to Cpl. Brandon Challis with the Police Department, the driver the car was arrested on suspicion of DUI and possibly other charges. Kyle Keegan, 25, was behind the wheel, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The home was in Edgewater, about halfway between Sheridan Boulevard and Wadsworth Boulevard along West 26th Avenue near the Vietnamese Baptist church there.
