CDOT offering Lyft credit ahead of Super Bowl

Ride credits will be available throughout the state and can be redeemed by using the code “KickoffSafe."

DENVER — Are you planning on going out on Super Bowl Sunday?

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is offering a $10 Lyft credit for Coloradans who are planning on going out on a busy Sunday.

CDOT launched this promotion to stop people from driving drunk on the roads during the Super Bowl. They said 156 people were arrested last year for DUI during the Big Game in Colorado.

CDOT, along with Colorado State Patrol, and more than 40 local law enforcement are participating in the Super Bowl Weekend DUI enforcement period which runs from Feb. 9 through Feb. 14.

“Whether you're a football fan or just watching for the halftime show, make a driving plan before heading out to view the game. We’ll have extra state troopers on our roads looking for impaired drivers,” said Col. Matthew C. Packard, chief of the Colorado State Patrol. “Our goal is to have everyone arrive home safely, so be a good sport and get a sober ride.”

To redeem the Lyft $10 credit, use the code “KickoffSafe” in the promotions section of the Lyft app. CDOT is providing 150 credits for the busy weekend. The credit can be redeemed from Feb. 8 to Feb. 15 at Lyft.com, as well as in the app.
