Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about the five goats that remain unaccounted for after they went missing from a farm in Wheat Ridge.
The goats in question were at Five Fridges Farm near the Kipling trailhead enclosure at West 38th Avenue, the Wheat Ridge Police Department said. The gate to their space has apparently been tampered with -- and since the typically sociable goats remain missing days later, investigators now suspect they were taken intentionally.
In a release from Wheat Ridge Police, Five Fridges Farm owner Amanda Weaver said, "We just want them home with the rest of the herd, and hope the reward encourages someone to come forward with information so we can find them."
The LaMancha goats were featured in a 9NEWS story about getting rid of Christmas trees, since they will eat the remnants of the holiday season as a tasty Christmas treat.
The missing goats are Wendell, who is black and white with a long beard and six-inch horns, Daryl and his other brother Darryl, who are both brown with no horns, Yoda, who is black with long floppy ears and horns, and Creampuff, who is all white with horns.
The five goats went missing sometime between 3 p.m. on Sunday and 5 a.m. on Monday.
Anyone with information about the missing goats is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can also text DMCS plus your message to 274637, go online to www.metrodenvercrimestoppers.com/tip, or use the mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous. The reward is for information that leads to an arrest or the return of the goats.
