The Planned Parenthood clinic where three people were killing and several others were wounded in a November attack fully reopened Sunday.
A gunman opened fire at the Colorado Springs facility on Nov. 27, 2015. Police officer and father of two Garrett Swasey, Army veteran and father of two Ke’Arre Stewart and mother of two Jennifer Markovsky were killed.
During a ceremony on Sunday, speakers made it clear that no attack will stop Planned Parenthood from fulfilling its mission.
“It’s not as if nothing happened, because something very serious did happen, but in terms of the patient’s experience, it’s going to be the same,” Vicki Cowart, the CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, said.
Legislators were on-hand Sunday to show their support.
The clinic partially reopened in mid-February.
Robert Dear, 57, previously admitted to the attack.
