Semi-truck crash closes EB I-270 in Commerce City

Commerce City police said the cleanup is expected to last several hours through the morning commute.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Eastbound Interstate 270 is closed Tuesday morning due to a semi-truck crash in Commerce City.

Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) said it is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash in the eastbound lanes of I-270 at Vasquez Boulevard interchange.

A semi-truck and trailer hauling a load of asphalt overturned at the location, spilling the asphalt onto the highway. CCPD said there are no injuries reported in the crash.

Both lanes of eastbound I-270 are closed at Vasquez and traffic is being diverted from the highway to southbound Vasquez.

CCPD said the cleanup is expected to last several hours through the Tuesday morning commute. Alternate routes are suggested for morning commuters.
