LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Local construction crews in Lakewood uncovered human bones Thursday morning at a construction site near a Jefferson County school.
Lakewood Police were called to the construction site on the southwest side of Kendrick Lakes Elementary School, 1350 S. Hoyt St., around 10:40 a.m. when work crews came across bones and called 911.
After an investigation, police said the bones were found to be human and appear to have been at this site for a significant amount of time.
Police said they have sent the remains off for testing to determine exactly how old they are. Lakewood detectives will continue to follow up on this case.
