PARK COUNTY, Colo. — A Lakewood couple who was missing for at least three days has been rescued, according to the Park County Sheriff's Office.
Heather and Dave Skillman went camping last weekend and were supposed to return on Tuesday, according to Park County Sheriff Tom McGraw. Rescuers began searching for the couple on Wednesday. It is not clear exactly when they became stranded.
They were spotted by an Air National Guard helicopter at approximately 2 p.m. on Friday near the Goosecreek Trail in the Kenosha Pass area, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Search and Rescue teams got to the Skillman's at 10 p.m. Friday night and got them out around 6:20 a.m. Saturday morning.
Their conditions are unknown.
The Sheriff’s Office was contacted to investigate after an employer of one of the two became concerned, McGraw said. A neighbor helped give deputies information on where the couple was planning to camp.
