On Saturday a crowd gathered at the state capitol for the Celebrate Life march and rally.

The march is a peaceful demonstration held in remembrance of the Roe v. Wade decision on Jan. 22, 1973 by the U.S. Supreme Court that legalized abortion nationwide.

The Denver rally began at 1 p.m. on the west steps of the state Capitol building with inspiring speakers. Once the presentation ended the crowd marched in solidarity over to Civic Center Park.

" We just want to celebrate life, we want to say that life is great, life has a dignity and we want to celebrate that dignity that we've been given, all of us, and we want everybody who's conceived to have that gift," said Deacon Geoff Bennett with Catholic Charities.

Throughout the week, prolife advocates across the country will participate in marches and the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., scheduled to take place on Friday Jan. 19.
