DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL — The population of Denver County hit an all-time high of 704,621 people in July, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Yesterday, the Census Bureau released data that indicated that Denver County has grown by more than 100,000 people in the past seven years, growing from 600,158 people in 2010.

Denver's growth rate paled in comparison with some of the fastest-growing areas of the country. The Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas for example, led the country in growth, adding 146,000 people last year alone.

In Colorado, Greeley is the state's fastest-growing metro area, and the third fastest-growing metro area in the country, adding 10,390 people in the past year, or a 3.5 percent annual increase, for a total of 304,633 people.
