BOULDER, Colo. — After raising more than $15,000 to support area nonprofits last year, Denver’s Taco Passport program is officially back for 2019.

For $20, Coloradans can buy a booklet with 2-for-1-coupons to local taquerias, restaurants and taco food trucks. The best part? 100 percent of the proceeds go to support area charities.

Spotlight Foundation, the Denver-based nonprofit who created Taco Passport, also announced plans to expand the program to Boulder this year. Passports are sold separately for each city and are valid through the end of the year.

Participating taco spots in Denver include: Blue Bonnet, Los Carboncitos, Comal Heritage Food Incubator, Comida, Dude Bro Taco, La Fuente Restaurant, El Jefe, Lily's Cocina, Pan De Vida, Tacos El Paisa, Teal Taco, and Tortas ATM.

This year’s Denver recipients include the Food Bank of the Rockies, Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network, and Brother Jeff’s Cultural Center

Boulder locations include: Tahonda Tequila Bistro, Roxie's Tacos, Red Agave Tequileria Cocina Calaca Bar, Taco Junkym Los Dos Bros Food Truck, The Diaz Farm, La Choza and Verde.

Proceeds from the Boulder Taco Passport will support There With Care, Lazaro Project and Attention Homes

"This year we are relaunching and hoping to expand our contribution to these great organizations and our new partners!" organizers said.
