Evacuations lifted after bomb scare near Auraria campus

Police investigated a "suspicious device" in the area of Walnut Street and West Fourth Street Saturday afternoon.

DENVER – The Denver Police Bomb Squad did not find an explosive device during an investigation Saturday afternoon at the Campus Village Apartments near the Auraria campus.

Evacuations were lifted at the apartments shortly after 6:45 p.m. The investigation started at around 4 p.m.

The investigation prompted road closures in the area of Walnut and West Fourth Streets. The apartment complex, which is adjacent to the campus, is located at 318 Walnut Street.

Details about the incident remain sparse. Video from the scene shows ladders installed outside some of the apartment's windows.

It's unknown if any suspects have been identified.

No additional information was immediately available.
