WESTMINSTER — The Westminster Fire Department will be able to give children stuffed animals when they respond to calls thanks to donations collected by a group of Girl Scouts.

Troop 2629 stopped by the department on Tuesday and dropped off several bags of toys that they've collected over the past year.

They'll be at fire stations and carried on their ambulances, where they can be given to children and patients receiving care to help bring some comfort during what can be a very scary time.

This service project will help earn the Girl Scouts the Silver Award, the highest award a Girl Scout cadette can earn.
