One local artist and 60 assistants created one really big masterpiece Saturday in Overland Park.
They worked together to create a mural on the Evans Avenue Bridge using a technique most of us learned in Kindergarten. Paint by numbers.
Artist Michelle Brown is leading the effort.
“Say people have an hour,” she said. "And they just want to pick color 16, and they just want to come out here and work for an hour, It can be done in phases.”
Overland Park Neighborhood Association President Mara Own says this project is significant for the area.
“It’s really important for us to be able to have a community that’s coming together making this thing bring us together instead of break us apart.”
Work on the project began Friday and volunteers will be back Sunday to help finish up. Brushes start swinging at 8:30 a.m. Sunday and anyone is welcome to help.
