Home on Colorado's western border explodes, injuring 2

There is no word on what caused the home to explode.

MACK, Colo — Two people miraculously survived a massive home explosion in a small town near Colorado's western border Sunday, according to our partners at KKCO in Grand Junction.

On security video, you can see the blast at a home in Mack, Colorado, followed by smoke and flames.

According to KKCO, two people were home at the time of the explosion.

Neighbors, including Benny and Brian Wilson, told the station they ran inside to try and help those people.

"There were flames and smoke all around me, and yeah, it was kind of nerve-racking to watch my two sons run into those flames," Benny Wilson told KKCO.

Brian Wilson told KKCO he first found a woman on the floor of the home.

"I asked her, 'Is there anyone else in the house?' And all she said was, 'Leeroy,'" Brian Wilson told KKCO.

A man was also found and pulled from the home by the Wilsons, according to KKCO.

Both people were rushed to the hospital but are alive, according to the station.

Neighbors told KKCO the man has already been released from the hospital and the woman was flown to a hospital in Denver.

Investigators have said a propane leak caused the explosion, but they have not found where the leak came from. The full investigation could take several weeks to complete.
