Starting Friday, anybody in Colorado has the opportunity to get prepared for a worst case scenario.
A new active shooter response training facility opens to the public at the Centennial Gun Club.
Jimmy Graham, a veteran U.S. Navy SEAL, will begin training Coloradans how to protect themselves against a terrorist threat, active shooters and other violent encounters in the workplace.
The training center is the first of its kind in the state, and only the third in the nation to use the military’s “Close Quarters Defense,” a tactical training system utilized by the U.S. Navy SEALs.
“The more prepared you are, the fewer lives are lost during a random attack,” says Graham. “The goal of training these citizens is to buy time and save lives by providing an immediate trained response before law enforcement arrives.”
The self-defense training includes weapons that fire simulated ammunition and provides people with the skills they need to respond to real threats.
The new 9,000-square-foot facility will have six private shooting lanes, an open training floor, scenario simulation area and classrooms.
It will be open to businesses, churches, schools and any organization who wants to train their employees to be prepared for the worst.
