UPDATE: The long Porta Potty nightmare is finally over for the Neill family.

After our story aired, the company contacted him and sent someone to get the port-a-potty on Monday.

In a phone call with 9NEWS on Monday, Bertsch Brothers Portable Restrooms blamed the delay on a new system, cited personnel changes and said there was an address mix up.

KUSA – There’s a portable toilet in Parker one family hopes won’t become a permanent fixture in their yard.

“That is a port-a-potty that we rented two weeks ago that was supposed to stay here for about two days, not two weeks,” Michael Neill said, gesturing to the toilet.

Neill said he rented the port-a-potty from Bertsch Brothers Portable Restrooms for the first weekend in September. He was hosting a BBQ and party complete with a slip and slide and dunk tank for the kids. He said the port-a-potty was delivered right on time.

The company just hasn’t picked it up.

“They came in on a Friday,” Neill said. “It was supposed to be removed the following Monday.”

September 24 will mark two weeks. Neill said he made about a half dozen phone calls to the company, sent several text messages and emails. He received a text back saying someone would be able to pick up the port-a-potty last Thursday. Neill said that person never showed.

“I’m thinking they’re just either way to busy or poor customer service,” Neill said.

Neill said his neighbors haven’t complained, but he has an idea of what they might be thinking.

“I think that they think my inside restroom isn’t working,” he laughed.

Neill said he paid $155 to use the port-a-potty for the weekend. He doesn’t expect to get his money back. He just wants a company to pick up the potty it left behind in his yard. 9NEWS reached out to Bertsch Brothers Portable Restrooms on Sunday but has yet to receive a response.
