Judge says he'd kill all pit bulls without hesitation

RIFLE - A Garfield County judge says pit bulls are too dangerous to be loose in society, and if he could he would kill every pit bull.

Judge Jason Jovanovich was overseeing a hearing this week regarding a September pit bull attack. Seventy-four-year-old Judy McGruder had stopped at a home in the western Colorado town of Silt to ask directions when she was attacked by a pit bull named "Butterbean." The attack left her with muscle damage, cuts and puncture wounds. The judge sentenced the dog's owner -- 32-year-old Julie Dawn Sullivan -- to community service, fines and probation. He compares pit bulls to sharks or lions and says they belong in zoos and should be illegal. The judge said, "If I had a big red button right here that would kill all the pit bulls, I wouldn't hesitate to press it."
