Lone suspect on horseback seen rustling 56 head of cattle in Aurora

A $2,000 reward is being offered after 56 head of cattle were stolen from a ranch in eastern Aurora.

The Aurora Police Department is trying to apprehend the lone suspect on horseback who a witness said was rustling 56 head of cattle near East Colfax Avenue and North Gun Club Road under the cover of darkness Thursday morning.

The cattle were stolen from 1701 S. Powhaton Rd. in east Aurora, the police department said on Facebook Friday evening.

Investigators said it’s possible the cattle have been transported to Kansas, but at this point, their whereabouts are uncertain.

Due to the high dollar value of the 56 black and white first calf heifers, this case of cattle rustling is being investigated as a felony.

The cows have distinct branding, which is pictured below.
