Man killed in head-on crash with snow plow near DIA identified

A pickup truck driver lost control on the icy roadway and hit the plow, according to Denver Police.

A man was killed Wednesday night after a head-on crash between a snow plow and a pickup truck near Denver International Airport.

According to a Tweet from the Denver Police Department, the crash happened around 9 p.m. in the 11100 block of Queensburg Street, just south of 114th Avenue.

A snow plow was headed north on the road when a pickup truck that was headed south lost control on the icy roadway and crashed head-on into the snow plow, a spokesperson for Denver Police said on Thursday.

The driver of the pickup, James Raff, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene. The plow driver was not hurt.

Raff's cause of death was from blunt force injuries, according to The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner
