KUSA — Each Tuesday our morning team is trying out a new product.
This week, they tested out charcoal toothpaste. It comes as a powder and you sprinkle a little bit on your toothbrush and then brush away.
It promises to whiten your teeth. The activated charcoal is also supposed to work as a natural detoxifier to polish and clean, whiten, remove surface stains and freshen breath.
Reaction from our morning team was mixed.
"There's a weird part of me that still feels like there's charcoal in there that I'm going to smile and it's going to start oozing out," said Steve Steager.
They only tested it out, so can't say it how it works for long-term whitening.
"Either way, It definitely feels cleaner to me," said Corey Rose. "It feels like you get all of the grit off or whatever."
