We're not sure how many more times we have to say it - people, don't leave your car puffing.

Three car owners in Aurora must not listen to the constant reminders on the news because their cars were easy targets in the last 24 hours.

Aurora Police posted descriptions of the stolen vehicles on its new Twitter and Facebook pages dedicated to stolen cars. Yeah, they have those now. Two were 2016 black Honda Accords.

One of them was stolen Thursday night in an area near East Colfax and Chambers Road.

The other was taken Friday morning on the 1000 Block of Norfolk Street.

According to the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association, Honda Accords are second on the list of top 10 vehicles stolen in Colorado.

The third puffer was a 2000 blue Dodge Caravan, which was stolen from the 16400 Block of East 17th Place.

None of the vehicles have been found.

Maybe this is enough to get people to stop, when a puffer car is stolen it impacts everyone - not just the driver.

"The big thing about puffing that people don't often realize is that - yes, we do have one victim that had their car stolen, but actually it affects our entire community. First off, our insurance rates increase when there is an increase in motor vehicle thefts and then secondly, a lot of the times these cars are used in other criminal acts such as robberies, homicides - so it's kind of a chain reaction when someone steals a puffer car," said Sergeant Christopher Amsler with Aurora Police.

Two of the victims were given citations for leaving their cars puffing. That's right, when someone steals your car, you could get a ticket.

Sergeant Amsler says officers try and give people warnings, but if their puffer car creates a dangerous situation they will likely be cited.

Denver police are also investigating stolen puffer cars.

Four were stolen in southwest Denver within the last three days.
One has been found.

Denver Police tell 9NEWS that area in southwest Denver, which is part of District 4, has the biggest problem with puffer cars.

The district's Commander, Mark Fleecs, says within the last three days 50 warnings and 15 citations were issued.
