Colorado family won't let their struggles hold them back from an adventure

Cramming a family of five into a van and traveling across the country for a summer is the stuff of movies. A family in Thornton happily hit the road this summer to make the most of their time together, and they came back closer than ever.
Aaron, Ryan, and Ian Horan have muscular dystrophy. They and their parents took the summer to drive around the country and make memories while they can. This was in D.C.

KUSA — Brian and Kim Horan packed up their three sons and decided to take a road trip over summer.

They left Thornton with Ryan, Aaron and Ian - 31, 30 and 28, respectively - in June to travel the country.

All three boys were diagnosed with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy as children. The disease claims the lives of most people who have it in their early or mid-20s.

The Horan boys have made the most out of life, all graduating high school and earning college degrees. This road trip was another opportunity to take advantage of the time they all have together as a family.
