No one really knows why Tom Spear has chosen his path.
He can often be seen in Arvada, Colorado. He pushes his bike trailer across town. His long, scraggly beard obscures his face.
But, Tom Spear also juggles in the park. He makes hackey sacks for people. He works out. This is part of what sparked our curiosity about Tom so long ago
Arvada Police know Tom. Tom has volunteered at a local church in town. Many people recognize him.
As we speak to those who know Tom Spear as he is now, homeless, we begin to understand why or how he has chosen this path.
Then, we went searching through the 9NEWS tape archives in hopes of finding video of Tom’s past foosball competitions.
