Paraglider crashes on hillside near Colorado School of Mines

The Golden Fire Department responded after a 28-year-old male crashed near the Mines' "M" on Lookout Mountain.

GOLDEN, Colo. — A paraglider who crashed near the Colorado School of Mines has multiple injuries, but was conscious and breathing before being transported to a local hospital, according to the Golden Fire Department.

Emergency personnel responded shortly after 1 p.m. to the 28-year-old male, who crashed about 100 yards below the college's "M" sign on Lookout Mountain.

A male hiking near Lookout Mountain reported the crash.

The Foothills Fire District, Jeffco Sheriff's Office, Jeffco Open Space and Highland Rescue assisted the Golden Fire Department with the rescue.

Golden Fire spokesperson Karlyn Tilley said the cause and how high up the man was when he crashed are both unknown factors at this time.
