Pedestrian hit, killed by RTD A line train

The pedestrian was in a crosswalk when they were hit, an RTD spokesperson said.

DENVER — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Regional Transportation District (RTD) A Line train near the Central Park Station in Denver on Friday, according to a tweet from Denver police.

Tina Jaquez, a spokesperson for RTD, said the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when they were hit.

The Central Park Station is located along Smith Road just west of Central Park Boulevard. 

Due to the crash, trains were not be running through the Central Park Station for most of the evening on Friday. 

Shuttles were transporting passengers between Union Station and 40th & Airport Stations during the A Line closure.

The identity of the pedestrian who was killed has not been released yet.
