Several sports icons - including former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning - stopped by the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Tuesday to pay their respects to recently passed former President George H.W. Bush.
Photographers Mark Wilson and Brendan Smialowski with Getty Images snapped the photos showing popular sports personalities like golfers Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Jack Nicklaus and Hale Irwin, tennis star Chris Evert, college basketball coach Mike Krzyzrewski. Even sportscaster Jim Nantz stopped in to pay his respects.
Throughout the day, many big names in politics and beyond also stopped in, including former presidential candidate Bob Dole, former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and others.
Bush died in Houston on Nov. 30 just eight months after his wife, Barbara Bush, also passed away. He and Barbara were married 73 years. He is survived by a large family, including former 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush and former presidential candidate Jeb Bush.
Bush was 94.
