Quiznos exec fired following arrest

CANON CITY (AP) - A Denver area Quiznos executive has been fired following his arrest for allegedly arranging to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex.

Scott Darrell Lippitt of Englewood was in Fremont County Court Thursday were he was told of his six charges, including attempted sexual assault on a child. Lippitt's attorney, Gary Lozow, says the firing is because of recent media attention, and not because of his arrest. Canon City police arrested Lippitt last week. They say Lippitt, a national vice president for marketing at Quiznos, had talked with an investigator posing as a teen on the Internet. Lippitt allegedly offered to teach her about sex, offering alcohol to relax her. Police say they found alcohol and sexual paraphernalia in his car. Lippitt is due in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
