KUSA - There were delays of up to 30 minutes on the A Line Tuesday morning due to a would-be passenger who was almost hit by the train.

RTD spokesperson Scott Reed said the woman was wearing headphones and trying to cross the tracks at Peoria Street without looking.

"She was nearly struck by a train that was coming into the station," Reed wrote in an email. "Luckily, the operator threw the emergency brakes and the pedestrian was able to step out of the way."

RTD first issued a bulletin about the delays at around 10:30 a.m.

Passengers were asked to give themselves extra time to get to their destination.

The A Line runs between Union Station and Denver International Airport.
