ADAMS COUNTY, Colo — Law enforcement continues to investigate after a car stolen out of Denver on Saturday night ended up on an embankment near the South Platte River — upside down and slightly burned.

Cmdr. Kimble Grove with the Commerce City Police Department said the vehicle was taken out of Denver around midnight before being set ablaze and abandoned.

There was no one in the vehicle when it was found, heavily damaged. A passerby noticed the car and called dispatch at 8:15 a.m., Grove said.

The car was found in the 5600 block of York Street along the river.
