One person is dead after his vehicle went off a highway and into Clear Creek in Clear Creek Canyon Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said the vehicle went off U.S. 6 and into the water at around 3 p.m.

The spokesperson said CPR was performed on the driver of the vehicle, but a CSP tweet later confirmed that he had died.

U.S. 6 was closed for more than four hours for the investigation and the removal of the vehicle.
