DENVER — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Denver's Westwood neighborhood that sent one of the vehicles into a nearby home, according to a tweet from Denver Police.

The crash was reported around 3 p.m. in the 800 block of South Patton Court, near West Kentucky Avenue and Morrison Road.

The driver of a van ran a stop sign and collided with a sedan, Doug Schepman, a spokesperson for Denver Police said.

The van also went into a home. People were inside, but no residents were hurt.

The adult male driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. A child in that vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution, Schepman said.

The van driver was taken to the hospital and is under arrest for investigation of driving under the influence.
