LOVELAND, Colo. — Dramatic video shows the moment a suspected DUI driver crashed into a family sitting in the picnic area outside a Loveland Dairy Queen over the weekend.

Police released the video and said it emphasizes why DUI and DUID enforcement is a top priority of their department.

Just after noon on Saturday, May 18, officers responded to the Dairy Queen located at 300 East Eisenhower Blvd. for a vehicle crash. Investigators determined that Michael Dupuis, 33, was driving erratically on east on E. Eisenhower Blvd and suddenly went off the right side of the road and into the picnic area.

A family of four was sitting at the table and one member of the family was briefly trapped under the vehicle. All four victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Dupuis was taken into custody at the scene on charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
