Warrant issued for man suspected of killing 'Psychic Kay'

FORT COLLINS - John Marks Jr., 48, is wanted for second-degree murder in the death of a Fort Collins woman known as "Psychic Kay," according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's Office spokesman John Schulz said the warrant was sealed from public inspection because of the ongoing investigation, and he declined comment on why Marks is suspected of second-degree murder, a class 2 felony. Class 2 felony sentences can range from eight to 24 years in prison.

On Oct. 13 investigators found 1995 Buick LeSabre they believe was last used by Adams and Marks at a Longmont-area motel near Interstate 25 and Colorado Highway 119. Investigators executed to 10 search warrants as they searched for Adams.

Her psychic business was licensed on Harmony Road from 1999 to 2005, according to records with the city of Fort Collins. It is unclear where the business may later have operated.

Marks has a criminal history that includes driving while ability impaired and drug possession, among other offenses. Officers in Boulder County responded to a verbal domestic dispute between Marks and Adams in 2007, but no arrests were made, according to Rick Brough with Boulder County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office is asking members of the public who may have information on Marks' whereabouts to contact them at 970-416-1985, to call their local law enforcement agency or Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.
