After officers hear fireworks, flames spotted in Confluence Park

A fire at Confluence Park in downtown Denver started shortly after Denver police officers in the area heard the sound of fireworks.

Flames spotted from a fire in Confluence Park Tuesday night.

KUSA – Charred vegetation is all that remains after a fire started burning in Confluence Park Tuesday night … shortly after Denver police officers in the area heard the sound of fireworks.

The officers who found grass, weeds and bushes burning along the Platte River could not identify any suspects in the area, according to the Denver Fire Department.

No one was hurt and no structures were threatened.

Samalam Limanski, who works nearby at World Wide Technology, said he also heard fireworks and saw vegetation in the downtown Denver park ablaze as he rode his bike home that night.

He said he saw the fire just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, and captured photos and videos of active flames.
