Woman killed in Fort Collins motorcycle crash

Police say an SUV turned left in front of the motorcycle, causing the fatal collision.

FORT COLLINS — A woman is dead after a motorcycle crash in Fort Collins.

According to a release, a motorcycle was heading south on South College Ave toward Mason St just after 10 a.m. Saturday when a northbound SUV turned left at Mason in front of it, and they collided.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 42-year-old man, was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. His passenger, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital and died. Her name has not been released.

The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old Fort Collins woman, had minor injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash and say charges are pending, but they don't believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
