Woman reported missing from Eagle County is found safe

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said "suspicious circumstances at her residence lead authorities to fear for her safety." She was located Thursday.

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. — Law enforcement said on Thursday that they found a woman safe who had called out sick to work last week and wasn't heard from afterward.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said the woman was the victim of a felony domestic violence incident involving 46-year-old Julio Cesar Delgado in December.

She called in sick to work on Feb. 17 and had not been heard from since, CBI said. They said, "suspicious circumstances at her residence lead authorities to fear for her safety."

CBI said the woman's cellphone was last pinged west of Rifle on Feb. 17. Her car was last seen traveling westbound on Interstate 70 near DeBeque that same day. Investigators said the woman and Delgado might have family in Utah.
