North Carolina 5th Grader Sees Snow For First Time

Can you imagine what it would be like when you see and touch snow for the first time--ever?!

McLEANSVILLE, N.C.-- No matter your age or location, everyone gets excited when they see snowflakes, especially when it snows right outside your window.

We don't get a ton of snow in the Triad, but we get at least one a year, sometimes more. That said can you imagine what it would be like when you see and touch snow for the first time--ever?!

That's what it was like for a Cyanna, a 5th grader at McLeansville Elementary in Guilford County. Cyanna's family relocated to the Triad, from St. Thomas, after Hurricane Irma destroyed parts of the Caribbean.

McLeansville Elementary librarian Marie Glover captured video of the moment after Cyanna's teacher, Mrs. Lee, took her outside when it started snowing.

The other lesson Cyanna is going to learn is..we all act like this every time it snows and we've seen it plenty of times!

Welcome to the Triad Cyanna, enjoy the snow.
