Aurora Central High School will receive a $250,000 grant to install a new synthetic turf field later this fall.

The grant will be provided by the Denver Broncos, the National Football League Foundation Grassroots Program and Local Initiatives Support Corporation as part of more than $3 million in field refurbishment awards allocated this year nationwide.

“The department of athletics and activities in APS, along with Aurora Central High School and the greater Aurora community are so incredibly excited about the opportunities that this new field will provide,” said Michael Krueger, Director of District Athletics & Activities for APS, on the Broncos website.

“We truly realize the positive impact that this will have on our community, the students at Aurora Central and the many programs that will utilize the football field. We are incredibly thankful to the Denver Broncos and the NFL Foundation for their continued support of our schools and our community.”

The NFL Foundation and LISC Grassroots Program has committed nearly $46 million to 336 projects nationwide since 1998.
