Community Table Kitchen in Boulder can never have too many cooks in the kitchen. That's because its mission is to help feed those experiencing homelessness and provide resources and job training.
CTK started in 2013 and helps to provide meals to hungry, low-income individuals and families.
It also provides jobs and job training for participants in the Ready to Work program.
“It's like a big family here,” Jose Rodriguez said. He’s an intern in the program. “It's pretty awesome.”
Rodriguez recently got out of jail and has three little boys.
“Unfortunately, my two youngest are in foster care at the moment and my oldest is with his grandmother," Rodriguez said.
He says that is part of why he’s working at Community Table Kitchen.
“I need to work hard to get my kids back and be able to raise them the way I was raised, in a proper home."
