Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan passed away last month after a battle with cancer.

By Monday next week, the City Council will have selected the city's new mayor after interviewing the four candidates this past Friday.

The candidates include Bob Legare, a current at-large council member, Dobi Hunter-Holen and Renie Peterson, both former council members, and Tim Hogan, the late mayor's son.

The City Council will cast their votes this coming Monday and swear in the new mayor at the end of their meeting.

Steve Hogan had served the public for 34 years before his passing. He was 69 years old.

He'd been mayor of Aurora since 2011 and served the previous 24 years on City Council.

Aurora City Council member Marsha Berzins is serving as Mayor Pro Tem until a new mayor is selected June 25.
