KUSA - Colorado Ballet's "Nutcracker" is known as a larger-than-life holiday production with professional dancers and an amazing set.

Now, a program called "Be Beautiful Be Yourself" is inviting young dancers with Down syndrome to appear in the holiday favorite.

Staci Unrau, 9, is one of those special guest dancers this season.

Staci came to 9NEWS Friday to show off some of her skills - all executed beautifully.

Allie Winter from the Global Down Syndrome Foundation says the program, which has been in the works for three years now, is just as important to the Colorado Ballet as it is to them.

The Be Beautiful Be Yourself Dance programs are being held at Colorado Ballet's studios.

They incorporate shapes, rhythm, and basic dance steps.

When asked what she thinks about being a ballerina, Staci responded simply: "I love it."
